Dilys Designs: "Hexagonal Etui" and Phillipa Turnbull: "Elizabethan Acorn" crewel work kit

The "bones" of the box came as a kit, bought on-line mail order from Pauline's Patchwork. Usually, people make these things up with a printed patchwork fabric. I used kangaroo skin leather for the sides and edges of the lid, and lined the box with duchess silk satin. The lid is mounted with the crewel work acorn embroidery from Phillipa Turnbull's The Crewel Work Company. This was bought as a kit from John Lewis in Oxford Street London.
