| From Kaffe Fassett's Passionate Patchwork: "Japanese Brocades".This title may be confusing to people who don't know that the fabrics come from Japan, rather than that they have a Japanese theme. Kaffe says in his introduction to the instructions for this quilt; "The fabrics in this quilt all have a muted, soft antique look, and the overall effect is of a dipped in tea concoction." In fact, two of the fabrics I chose had to be just that - dipped in tea to give me the required quality. For some reason this quilt reminds me of the bedspread on the bed I used when I stayed at the farmhouse of my Uncle Ray at Bung Bong in Victoria. I had the quilt professionally quilted by Isabel Hall of Compton Quilting Services. | |
