Delft Applique Cushion

I was watching a friend make something similar at a recent WOW Quilter's day, and decided to have a go myself. I doodled the design on the back of an envelope, then got some American freezer paper, folded in half, in half again and in half once more and drew the design on one side. I then used a sharp craft knife to cut out the design, then ironed it on to the dark blue fabric. I then cut out the fabric, leaving a seam allowance, and tacked it onto the light coloured cloth. I've completed appliqueing the motif on, and now need to quilt it. I want the cushion to go with my Delft lambase.
